Twenty-five people have applied to be the next leader of the St. Joseph School District.
Applications for the position closed on Dec. 1, and the Board of Education is now entering the final phase of its superintendent search. The next step in the process takes place on Wednesday, Dec. 4, when the board will review the applicants and select semi-finalists.
Of the 25 candidates, 10 are out-of-state applicants, district officials said.
Semi-finalists will complete screening interviews on Dec. 12. From there, two or three finalists will complete a final round of interviews along with a tour on Dec. 17.
The new superintendent will begin duties on July 1.
