District librarian wins accolade in state competition

A St. Joseph School District librarian is being honored as part of a statewide competition.

Lindsay Holland of Spring Garden Middle School is Librarian of the Year for the Northwest Region and will now be considered for the state title by the Missouri Association of School Librarians.

According to the district, Holland was been a “dedicated, innovative, and positive influence on both students and staff” for the past six years. She also is the vice president of the Missouri Association of School Librarians’ Northwest chapter.

“Holland exemplifies leadership and excellence in her field,” district officials said.

A statewide winner will be named in February 2025.
