Two St. Joseph School District leaders were honored Monday for going above and beyond in their roles.
Jill Huntsman of the Hillyard Technical Center received the “Administrator of the Year” award from the Missouri Council of Career and Technical Administrators.
Landi Quinlin of Truman Middle School was honored with the “Middle Level Principal of the Year” award from the Missouri Association of Secondary School Principals.
Huntsman joined the district in 2000, beginning her SJSD journey as an agriculture teacher at Hillyard. She worked her way up from there, moving up to assistant director before her position now as the director. She has used her educational and professional experience to bring new ideas to the area, including launching an agriculture program at South Holt High School.
Outside of the district, Huntsman serves as a member of the St. Joseph Workforce Development Alliance.
Quinlin began her career in 2000 as a PE teacher in Raytown. She then taught English Language Arts at South Holt High School before coming to the St. Joseph School District in 2014 to teach the same subject at Bode Middle School.
She joined the leadership group in 2016, bringing skills in professional development, instructional technology and more to the district, now serving as principal at Truman.
