A U.S. Armed Forces retired serviceman with decades of experience in the trades is a newly promoted administrator by the St. Joseph School District.
The district said Thursday in a news release that Daniel Steidel replaces Casey Housman as coordinator of maintenance and warehousing, following a previous decision to give Housman the role of director of operations and warehousing.
“The St. Joseph School District is a great place to work, it feels like family,” Steidel said in a news release. “I will strive to ensure integrity and communication are my top priorities. I aim to help move the district forward in providing the best facilities possible.”
Steidel, the district said, has 22 years of work under his belt as a carpenter, electrician and technician of heating, ventilation, air conditioning and refrigeration. He has also worked in construction, maintenance, energy conservation and strategic planning.
A lifelong St. Joseph resident and Lafayette High School alumnus, Steidel served for 20 years in the U.S. Air Force and Missouri Air National Guard, with a military occupational specialty of civil engineering. He achieved an honorable retirement from the service in 2023, the district said.
