Nodaway County officials arrested two people who fled from authorities investigating a series of thefts Tuesday.

The two, an adult man and a male juvenile, were in a stolen Chevrolet Silverado that members of the Maryville Police Department attempted to stop a little after 2:35 a.m. Tuesday. They drove south out of town with officers in pursuit, leaving the road at Route M and Jet Road and causing the vehicle to become disabled. The two then ran into a nearby cornfield.

Authorities issued a warning that the two people they were looking for should be considered armed and dangerous.

Officials were able to locate the two several hours later and take them into custody, according to a Facebook post. The names of the two arrested were not released.

A truck and firearm have been recovered as part of the investigation into stolen property in Andrew and Nodaway counties. Police said the case remains active and those with information are asked to call the Maryville Police Department at 660-562-3209.

They were being sought in connection with stolen vehicles, firearms and other property in Nodaway and Andrew counties.

One other suspect is in custody, officials said.
