The St. Joseph Downtown Association is hosting a celebration this weekend that will appeal to local Swifties.

The St. Joseph Downtown Association is hosting a celebration this weekend that will appeal to local Swifties. 

Businesses will have various Taylor Swift-themed specials and events starting at 10 a.m. on Saturday, Feb. 1, ahead of performances that evening by LOVER, a tribute band that performs the singer's music.

Wendy Lilly, executive director of the Downtown Association, said the event offers fun for fans while building up local businesses.

"We're having 'In My Downtown Era' where participating businesses are going to be doing some fun Taylor Swift-themed activities for people who want to come get concert-ready before the concert," Lilly said.

Lilly said that they wanted to bring a little bit of Taylor Swift to St. Joseph at a much more affordable price. And with people Downtown for the performance, it's a chance to show off what the area has to offer.

"It's taken a lot of work to get this event going and definitely the businesses are super excited about it, so just take advantage of coming down," Lilly said. "The weather's supposed to be nice on Saturday. And if you're looking for, you know, concert-ready, come down before the show and eat, drink, shop, have fun and then come to our concert. We just really want Downtown to thrive."

  • Polished and Pampered Salon and Day Spa
  • Schweetz Candy Co.
  • Seventh Street Cafe
  • The Story Collective

The main performance from LOVER - An Eras Tour Experience will occur at 6 p.m. at the Missouri Theater. There will also be an acoustic performance by the band on Sunday, Feb. 2 at The Trail Theatre.

Tickets can be purchased at jomotickets.comTickets for Saturday's event range from $27.50 to $80, with most remaining tickets located in the balcony. Tickets for Sunday's event are $45.
