Businesses sought for Shop St. Joseph program

It may be Halloween week but the St. Joseph Chamber of Commerce already is looking ahead to Christmas and a popular holiday program.
Local businesses that would like to be part of the annual Shop St. Joseph program can register now. Participating businesses give out tickets to customers that could be drawn for a $10,000 grand prize.
“Shop St. Joseph gives residents an extra reason to shop local, where what they spend helps our own community,” said Natalie Hawn, President and CEO of the St. Joseph Chamber of Commerce. “Not only can shoppers win prizes, but businesses get exposure to potential new customers.”
This year’s Shop St. Joseph program runs from Wednesday, Nov. 13, to Monday, Dec. 16. A $10,000 grand prize and a $2,500 Shop Small Business bonus drawing will be held on Wednesday, Dec. 18. Smaller second-chance prizes also will be given.
Participating businesses give one free Shop St. Joseph ticket to customers who receive another ticket for every $10 spent. Retail shops, restaurants and service providers all are part of the program.
Shop St. Joseph is open to all businesses, not just chamber members. However, chamber members receive a discount on the participation cost, which has been lowered to allow more small businesses to participate.
