A fan-favorite Chinese restaurant in St. Joseph reopened its doors Friday after closing in December 2023.

Twin Dragon, located at 2604 N. Belt Highway, is under new management. Amber Chumil Perez, an employee, said the previous chef has returned, but the restaurant will also be seeing a couple of changes.

As of right now, Twin Dragon is only offering carry-out dining. The restaurant will no longer have a buffet. Also, there will no longer be pork served at Twin Dragon.

Perez said she is excited about the reopening.

“I was here 13 years before the shutdown and I am just excited that we’re finally back open and glad it’s still running as Twin Dragon and hopefully (it’ll) keep running more, many many years.”

Perez also said the new owner of Twin Dragon, Mohammad “Sharif” Nazar, has been making upgrades.

“He’s really easy to get along with,” Perez said. “He has made a lot of improvements in the restaurant, and it’s taken some time and a lot of work.”
