Heavy rain remains south today, but returns tomorrow

ST. JOSEPH, Mo. (News-Press NOW) -- Good morning to you all. After some strong to severe storms moved through the area last night, we are looking at a much calmer day in St. Joseph today. Any rain is likely to be limited to areas south of Kansas City today, where there will be the potential for severe storms and flash floods. Thus, if you are traveling south today, you'll have to watch out for slick spots on the road, and even some running water rover roads too.

However, the rain won't stay away from St. Joseph for long- by tomorrow, we are expecting rain to return, with chances lingering through Friday. Wednesday and Thursday will likely be the rainiest days of the rest of the week. Flash flooding will be possible tomorrow where storms train over the same locations. Caution is advised when traveling tomorrow.

By the weekend, the weather looks a lot quieter, which will be great for any outdoor plans. Temperatures remain in the high 60s and low 70s for the remainder of the week.
