Gerard, Agnes 1933-2025 Fort Worth, Texas

FORT WORTH, Texas – Agnes Gerard passed peacefully on April 3, 2025, in Fort Worth, Texas. Agnes was born to Isabel and Alfonzo Cruz on Jan. 20, 1933, in St. Joseph. The third child of 12 siblings.
Agnes married Alan Gerard in 1952 and as he began a U.S. Naval career, they moved to Long Beach, California, Charleston, South Carolina, Vallejo, California, Subic Bay, Philippines, Oxnard, California, San Diego, California, and Kenitra, Morocco, before he retired and moved back to St. Joseph. After returning to St. Joseph, Agnes worked at Whitaker Cable Company for many years. Afterwhich, she worked at Olympia Bowling Lanes organizing and running the youth bowling league. She loved working with the youth teaching them how to bowl and have fun.
Agnes is survived by her sisters, Tina Donovan and Genny Hymer; her brothers, Floyd Cruz, Alex Cruz, and Sylvester Cruz; her children, Robert Gerard, of Midlothian, Texas, and Michael Gerard, of Warrensburg, Missouri; her three grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
Agnes is preceded in death by her husband, Alan O. Gerard; her son, Gregrory Gerard; her parents, Alfonzo and Isabel Cruz; her siblings, Johnny Manuel Cruz, Mary Lou Cross, Filomena Hagg, Patricia Westhoff, Alfonzo Cruz Jr. and Ralph L. Cruz.
Agnes has been cremated under the direction of Heaton-Bowman-Smith-Sidenfaden Chapel.
A visitation will be held on Friday, May 2, 2025, from 5 to 7 p.m. at Heaton-Bowman-Smith-Sidenfaden Chapel.
Private family inurnment to take place Saturday, May 3, 2025, at Mount Olivet Cemetery, in St. Joseph.
