Schroeder, Steven W. 1980-2025 St. Joseph, Mo.

Steven W. Schroeder, 44, St. Joseph, passed away Tuesday, April 15, 2025. He was born Sept. 9, 1980, in St. Joseph, to Allen and Elizabeth (Cogdill) Schroeder.

He graduated from Benton High School, and the Missouri Western Regional Law Enforcement Academy. He worked for the Buchanan County Sheriff’s Department as a reserve deputy, then the City of St. Joseph Sewer Department for 25 years.

Steven enjoyed hunting, fishing and gardening.

He was preceded in death by his mother; and grandparents.

Survivors include his father, Allen W. Schroeder, of St. Joseph; children, Zackary Schroeder and Corby Schroeder, both of St. Joseph; grandchild, Brayden Schroeder, of St. Joseph; brother, Ken Schroeder (Charity), of Faucett, Missouri; and several cousins.

Farewell Services and Public Livestream 1 p.m. Friday, Meierhoffer Funeral Home & Crematory. Interment Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will gather with friends 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Meierhoffer Funeral Home & Crematory.
