Polo junior Owen Horner is called for strike three during the fourth inning of a 5-0 loss to Mid-Buchanan on Tuesday in Faucett, Missouri.

Mid-Buchanan baseball's second straight game against an undefeated team fared better for the Dragons on Tuesday as they shut out Polo 5-0.

Led by senior pitcher Will Archer, the Dragons only gave up one hit the entire contest. Archer set the tone for the Dragons on the defensive side, putting together a nice outing overall, and in the second inning in particular. Archer would strike out the side in the top of the inning, two of them went down swinging while the other went down looking.

Offensively, the bats were more hot for the Dragons on the chilly afternoon in Faucett in contrast to the Panthers and their one-hit performance. The Dragons were able to add two runs in the opening inning and two runs in the third inning, including an RBI single from junior Mason Grace in the bottom of the third to increase the Mid-Buchanan lead to 4-0.

The Dragons would go on to add one more run in the fifth inning while keep the Panthers at bay and eventually handing them their first loss of the season.

The win serves as a bounce-back victory for the Dragons after falling to undefeated and conference foe Lawson last week. Last year's Class 3 runner-up will head to Plattsburg on Thursday.
