TNA welcomes The Hardy Boyz in St. joseph

ST. JOSEPH, Mo. (News-Press NOW) — What started as two young brothers playing in a makeshift wrestling ring in their backyard birthed one of the sport's best-known tag teams.
Matt and Jeff Hardy, known as “The Hardy Boyz,” are a dynamic duo in professional wrestling. They are known for their innovative matches, particularly in World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE), Total Non-Stop Action (TNA) and Ring of Honor (ROH).
The brothers are set to bring their craft the Civic Arena in St. Joseph as Total Non-Stop (TNA) presents "iMPACT!" on Friday and Saturday, March 28 and 29.
However, with more than 30 years of success in the ring, their humble beginnings have been the catalyst for greatness in life and careers.
“We built a makeshift ring on our trampoline, which I had to emulate what we saw on TV and almost started self-training ourselves,” Matt Hardy said.
Losing their mother at a young age to a brain tumor, the brothers were raised by their dad in Cameron, North Carolina.
“We both wanted to be professional baseball players at first until we discovered pro wrestling,” Matt Hardy said. “We're like ... this is the coolest thing ever. These guys are like living, breathing superheroes.”
Watching their father work from sunrise to sunset, the boys made the most of their lives and that always started with passion and the drive to be great.
“Now, 47 years into this life, man ... to still be performing at the level we are, I'm just so grateful for TNA to give us a place to shine again,” Jeff Hardy said.
Beyond their in-ring accomplishments, Matt and Jeff have embraced family to keep them grounded in the fame.
“Meditation has been a huge benefit for me as far as getting away from the ring,” Jeff Hardy said. “Most importantly, being the best father and constantly trying to be the best husband I can be.”
That same family dynamic relates to Matt as well.
“When I get home, I just want to be super dad and play with my kids as much as possible,” Hardy said. “On top of that, I have a wife who is a Puerto Rican from New York, so she's not going to let me get the big head in any capacity.”
The brothers are excited about this stop in St. Joseph and can’t wait to be back after over 10 years.
“We are expecting a lot of love and enthusiasm and it's just it's cool how we've almost become something even more in some ways than pro wrestlers,” Jeff Hardy said. “Were like, these generational influencers.”
