Registration open for 11th annual Run/Walk for the Paws 5K
ST. JOSEPH, Mo. (News-Press NOW) -- Registration is now open for the Friends of the Animal Shelter's 11th annual Run and Walk for the Paws 5K.
The 5K is held every year to financially support the efforts of the St. Joseph Animal Control and Rescue.
Registration for the 5K is $30 before March 26 and then the fee goes up to $35. Participants can register for the 5K until the morning of the race on Saturday, April 12.
The race will be chip timed by the ShowMe Running Company with instant results and finish line photos. Participants will walk or run from the parking lot across from Bode Ice Arena, located at 2500 SW. Parkway, travel along the Southwest Parkway to Bartlett Park and then turn around to make their way back to the start line.
Local pet-related businesses and vendors will have booths set up for everyone to browse, as well as a kid's activity booth.
Dogs are welcome to join in on the fun, provided they are friendly with other dogs and have updated rabies vaccinations.
