Natalie Linthicum takes first place in regional spelling bee

Linthicum couldn't contain her excitement after being declared the champion of the Northwest Missouri Regional Spelling Bee.

Saturday afternoon, 26 students from schools in the Northwest Missouri region competed to be the area's top speller.

Eighth-grader Kynzington Clint from Osborn took second place and eighth grader Natalie Linthicum from the North Daviess RIII School District took first place with the word "mauve."

Linthicum will go on to compete in the 2025 National Spelling Bee in Washington D.C. May 27, 28 and 29.
