Six suspects arrested in connection to armed robbery in Jefferson City

Six suspects have been detained in connection to a reported armed robbery in Jefferson City Monday night, according to the Jefferson City Police Department.
Three adults and three juveniles are currently in custody and awaiting formal charges of first-degree robbery, armed criminal action, unlawful use of a weapon and first-degree kidnapping after allegedly robbing a group of people at gunpoint, police say.
The victims told police that multiple suspects entered their vehicle around 11:30 p.m. in the 300 block of Benton Street, robbed them at gunpoint and stole multiple personal items, according to the police department.
Officers established a perimeter around a residence near the area and several people were detained, and JCPD detectives were called as the investigation progressed, police say. The six suspects were taken into custody following the investigation, according to police.
Six firearms were recovered during the investigation, and three of them had been reported as stolen, police say.
