Monday, Dec. 30

At 7:18 a.m. the Fayette County Sheriff’s Office responded to a car vs. deer accident on Harding Road, near Beachnut Road. Jacob Milder, 42, of Williamsburg, struck a white tail deer that ran into the roadway with his 2007 Chevrolet Suburban. No injuries were reported and Milder’s vehicle sustained around $1,500 damage.

Sunday, Dec. 29

At 9:46 a.m. deputies responded to a vehicle stalled in the roadway on 242nd Street, east of Rose Road. John Robert Jola, Jr., of Lansing, was driving a black Buick when it ran out of gas. After an investigation, it was found that Jola was suspended from operating a motor vehicle in Iowa, with 8 withdrawals in effect. Jola was transported to the Fayette County Jail. After further investigation, a search warrant was issued for the vehicle where methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia were found. Jola was charged with operating while license suspended, possession of a controlled substance (3rd or subsequent) and possession of drug paraphernalia. The Fayette County Sheriff’s Office was assisted by the Iowa State Patrol.

Saturday, Dec. 28

At 12:23 p.m. deputies took a report of a camper that had property stolen out of one of the outside compartments at Skip-A-Way Campground in Clermont. Upon investigation, it was learned there were about a dozen other campers that had been tampered with sometime in the last few weeks. This incident remains under investigation; however, Sheriff Fisher recommends that anyone that has a camper at Skip-A-Way Campground should check their campers, and make sure they are secure. If anyone has property missing, they are asked to contact the Fayette County Sheriff’s Office at 563-422-6067 Ext. 233 to report anything.

At 10:03 p.m. deputies responded to a vehicle accident at the intersection of North First and Banks Streets in Randalia. Chester Jones, 44, of West Union, was driving a 2004 Ford F350 truck north on North First Street when he lost control and entered the ditch. Jones was arrested and transported to the Fayette County Jail on charges of possession of a controlled substance — marijuana, possession of a controlled substance — methamphetamine, and possession of drug paraphernalia. Jones was not injured and the vehicle he was driving sustained no damage. This incident remains under investigation and further charges are pending.

The Fayette County Sheriff’s Office has made an arrest following a three-month investigation into vandalism and property damage in the Waucoma area. Luke Joseph Langreck, 19, of Lawler, was arrested Saturday, Dec. 28, on a valid arrest warrant for criminal mischief in the 2nd degree (Class D felony). He was taken to the Fayette County Jail and held on a $5,000 cash or surety bond until his initial court appearance. The sheriff’s office reported multiple reports of property damage came in during October and November, ranging from several road signs, mailboxes, trash bins and Waucoma City Park property being destroyed. Multiple search warrants were conducted, and culprits were identified. The Dubuque County Sheriff’s Office assisted in bringing this case to closure.

Sunday, Dec. 22

At 11:02 a.m. deputies responded to a domestic disturbance in the 200 block of North Cass Street in Westgate. After further investigation, Adryan Neil Jensen, 45, of Westgate, was arrested for domestic abuse assault 1st offense (simple misdemeanor). Jensen was transported to the Fayette County Jail to await an initial appearance before a magistrate.
