Police investigating Sunday night carjacking

The St. Joseph Police Department is looking for those involved in a Sunday evening carjacking that involved an infant.

According to police, three armed men forced the father of an infant out of the vehicle and assaulted him before driving off with the 7-month-old baby at about 6:30 p.m. on Dec. 1 near 501 N. Belt Highway.

Police were called and were able to pursue the vehicle using GPS tracking. The driver abandoned the vehicle with the infant in the back seat.

The baby and vehicle were safely located at 20th and Jones streets.

Police are working to identify the suspects. Anyone with information should contact officials at 816-238-8477.
