Four arrested for various sex crimes in Holts Summit

The Holts Summit Police Department recently arrested four individuals for various sex crimes in the city, in collaboration with other law enforcement agencies.
“The Holts Summit Police Department firmly believes that through collaboration with local, state, and regional partners we can AND WILL make our community safer,” the city said in a Sunday news release.
Since December 2023, the Holts Summit Police Department has been following up on leads related to an adult male from Kentucky who had allegedly been sending “exploited photographs” to a juvenile, the release said.
Police say a Holts Summit detective was able to locate the male and request an arrest warrant for the man. A charge for sexual misconduct involving a child under 15 was also filed.
Within hours, the suspect was taken into custody in collaboration with the Butler County Sheriff’s office in Kentucky, according to the release. The individual has since been extradited to Callaway County where he awaits a criminal trial.
Suspects in two other sexual assault cases were also taken into custody in collaboration with the Callaway County Sheriff’s office, the Mexico Department of Public Safety, and the Cole County Sheriff’s office, according to the release.
Charges in those two cases include first-degree sodomy, second-degree statutory rape, and second-degree statutory sodomy.
Another case from earlier this month led to an individual’s arrest for violating parole.
The individual was apprehended on Nov. 26, as a Holts Summit patrol officer and the Jefferson City Police department worked together to conduct proactive patrols. The individual was on probation for a charge of possession of child pornography.
