Head-on collision as vehicle drives wrong way on exit ramp

On Saturday Aug. 10 at approximately 10:40 a.m., there was a head-on collision on the Edmond St. exit ramp off of I-229.

According to the St. Joseph Police Department, one vehicle entered the ramp going the wrong direction from 3rd St., resulting in them striking another vehicle head-on.

One party was transported by ambulance to Mosaic Life Care with moderate injuries. The other party was also taken to the hospital with minor injuries.

Both drivers were reported to have been wearing their seatbelts.

There is no suspicion of drugs or alcohol being involved in the wreck.
