Drivers who use the Cook Road Bridge will need to look for a detour late next week.

Crews from the Missouri Department of Transportation announced the bridge over Interstate 29 will close from 7 a.m. Thursday, May 23, through 8:30 a.m. Friday, May 24.

Crews will complete concrete replacements on a portion of the driving surface.

The bridge must remain closed overnight to allow the concrete to cure.

Motorists will need to seek an alternate route during the closure. All work is weather-permitting.

A large project to rehabilitate the Cook Road Bridge is scheduled to begin in mid-June.

Clarkson Construction Company out of Kansas City will oversee the project.
