Pet of the Week: sweet cat and shy dog ready for adoption

By NewsPress Now
Meet Jericho!
Jericho came to the shelter after being located by police in an abandoned home. He was extremely thin but his spirit never wavered. Once he realized he was in a safe place where he would get all the food and water he could want, his personality got even brighter, and he began to regain weight. This ginger boy, barely out of kittenhood, has become a staff and volunteer favorite. Jericho wants to be held and loved, and he appreciates every bit of comfort he’s given.
Meet Coretta!
Coretta is a 3-year-old mixed breed dog with a beautiful merle and white coat and the sweetest eyes. Coretta came to the shelter as a stray and after no owner came forward she was selected to participate in the Puppies for Parole program. Coretta is now housetrained, crate-trained, leash-trained and knows all her basic commands. Coretta is a little shy at first but warms up quickly. She is patiently awaiting her adoption day.
