Missouri Western State University is honoring future members of our local law enforcement agencies with a graduation ceremony on Friday evening.

Cadets of the 63rd Law Enforcement Academy class will participate in the ceremony at 6 p.m. on Friday, Dec. 20 in the Fulkerson Center on the MWSU campus, located at 4525 Downs Dr. in St. Joseph.

The new graduates will receive certificates from the LEA and badges from their future supervisors with area law enforcement agencies.

Captain Mike Hess from the Buchanan County, Missouri, Sheriff’s Office is the keynote speaker for the ceremony.

The newly graduated Cadets will be honored for their service in the military, their academic achievement and all the skills they have learned while attending the LEA.

The 63rd LEA class is walking away with knowledge like firearms training, defense tactics, emergency vehicle operations and physical training.
