Youth rock concert, guitar giveaway at Cafe Acoustic

Lanham Music hosted a Rock Academy for middle and high schoolers which culminated in a performance from Shredders of Destiny on Saturday at Cafe Acoustic.

There was also a guitar giveaway open to kids. Multiple guitars were up for grabs, leaving several children happy as they went home with a new instrument.

One of the winners, 15-year-old Hudson Wright, said he was excited to begin learning how to play his new guitar. Wright shared more about why he wanted his first guitar.

“I listen to a lot of like metal and stuff,” Wright said. “I like Judas Priest, I think they’re really cool. I really wanna play some of their songs too.”

The show was free and open to all ages.

Lanham’s Rock Academy is an annual program.
