Mayor’s Dinner to benefit Second Harvest Food Bank

Mayor John Josendale will host the city’s annual Mayors’ Thanksgiving Dinner Wednesday night.
The event was at Civic Arena, where hundreds attended.
The dinner will benefit the Second Harvest Community Food Bank and comes just before the food bank’s annual Turkey Day registration on Thursday, Nov 14.
“Second Harvest, as everybody knows, raises money and gives food and makes sure people have things to eat, so no one goes hungry,” said Josendale. “This is a way to say, ‘Thank you’ to a lot of the people who make it all happen.”
Josendale said the dinner has been a tradition for many mayor’s in St. Joseph.
“I’m like the fourth or fifth mayor that I know that has done this,” said Josendale. “I know it goes back at least as far as Glenda Kelly, so there have been a number of mayors that have done this.”
Numerous members of the community attended to celebrate Second Harvest and all of the work they provide for the community.
