Tomato Fest set for Aug. 22

All things tomato will be highlighted at a special event hosted by the Northwest Missouri Master Gardeners next week.

Tomato Fest, an event that is free to the public, will be from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. on Thursday, Aug. 22, at the MU Extension office, 4125 Mitchell Ave.

Master Gardeners and Extension faculty will answer questions and present programs on topics including:

Fall planting

Producing your best tomatoes

Building a raised bed garden

Tomato sampling and rating

Free seed garlic (while supplies last)

Recipes and tastings of several tomato varieties
