Judge candidates will be guests at Republican Club meeting

The candidates for an open judicial seat in Buchanan County will speak at the Northwest Missouri Republican Club’s meeting next week.

Monica Morrey and Terry White, Republicans who will face off in the Aug. 6 primary for 5th Judicial District Division 3 Circuit Judge, will be guests at the meeting on Thursday, June 20, at Bandanas Bar-B-Q, 4225 Frederick Ave. The social hour begins at 5:30 p.m. with dinner and the forum presentation at 6:30. Those attending can order off the menu.

Morrey earned her degree from Washburn University School of Law in 2016 and has worked her way up from assistant prosecuting attorney for Buchanan County to prosecuting attorney for Andrew County, which has been her role since 2023.

White received his degree at the Mitchell-Hamline School of Law. He is a sheriff’s deputy assigned to the Buchanan County Drug Strike Force. He has spent the last 40 years working in the criminal justice system in Northwest Missouri.
