Spirit-con covers all things metaphysical

St. Joseph residents got to experience all things meta-physical and paranormal Sunday with Omnia Event’s Spirit-Con.
The Stoney Creek conference center was filled with vendors and customers who wanted to experience spiritualism in a different light. The event featured sessions with paranormal investigators, palm reader, crystal specialists and much more.
The host of Spirit-Con, Omnia Events, specializes in creating places where everyone can find their tribe, their community and their people.
“I haven’t seen anything like this in St. Joe, you know, actually ever,” Omnia Events co-owner April McQueen said. “When we were looking for different places to go…I was like ‘St. Joe might be a good place to go because this is a semi-big town.’ Some of the smaller towns around can come in and enjoy it as well.”
McQueen said she believed St. Joseph would be a good location for Spirit-Con due to the more conservative atmosphere that some may not feel connected with.
“Sometimes in life you don’t fit in certain places,” McQueen said. “And we want to open this up to everybody. No matter what you want, what your walk of life is, you’re welcome to come here.
Several vendors traveled hours to share their gifts and knowledge at Spirit-Con. Some sold items such as teas and crystals while others offered services such as readings and paranormal investigations.
“We are here to bring help for people,” Juli Couch with Raven’s Eye Paranormal said. “We are here to meet people’s spiritual and metaphysical needs. I think all of us have a common goal to work with the public and get them the help that they need or (to) teach, because there’s a lot of education that needs to be done out there…through experiences and just explaining things.”
Because events like these are not common in St. Joseph, guests got to enjoy several rare experiences and interactions such as tea leaf readings by Monica Murray and one on one conversations with Paranormal Specialists like Russell Reynolds with Beyond Life Paranormal Research.
