Benefit run will kick off Apple Blossom day

A 5K event benefitting Sisters of Solace will take to the streets ahead of the Apple Blossom Parade on Saturday, May 4.
The event, which includes a run, walk and team tandem run, burden run and heavy burden run categories, begins at 8:45 a.m. in the St. Joseph Aquatic Center parking lot, 402 S. Noyes Blvd., traveling north on Noyes to Frederick and then following the parade route into Downtown, ending at River Bluff Brewing, 1224 Frederick Ave. Costs to enter range from $45 to $100.

Sisters of Solace offers services to women survivors of trauma, human trafficking and addiction.
The Apple Blossom Parade, which is marking its 100th year, will begin at 9:30 a.m. at Noyes and Frederick. The parade will turn west on Frederick to Ninth, go south on Ninth to Felix, then west on Felix to where it will end at Eighth Street.
