Parties on the Parkway announces 2024 lineup

St. Joseph’s Parkway System is once again set to become party central as a new season of a long-running entertainment series gets ready to kick off.

Parties on the Parkway is scheduled to have its first concert of the season on May 9. The events will be held from 5 to 8 p.m. on the second Thursday of each month through late spring and the summer at various locations along the Parkway.

Admission is free and pets are welcome. There are food and beverage vendors but some only take cash.

Band suggestions were taken from the public and cover a variety of genres. This year’s lineup is:

May 9: The All Stars Band, 70s and 80s hits and more, Southwest Parkway and King Hill Drive (rain date May 16).

June 13: Michael Shaun Brown, country, Southwest Parkway and 28th Street (rain date June 20).

July 11: Making Movies, Afro-Latin rock, Noyes and Messanie, Parkway A (rain date July 18).

Aug. 8: Doc’s 100 Proof, R&B, disco and funk, Corby Pond. (rain date Aug 15).

Sept. 12: Happy Endings, 90-00s alt rock, Remington Nature Center, 1502 McArthur Drive (rain date Sept. 19).

The series is hosted by the St. Joseph Chamber of Commerce and the City of St. Joseph. The presenting sponsor is Nodaway Valley Bank and the entertainment sponsor is Altec Industries Inc. This year’s events will include a prize patrol sponsored by United Fiber.
