Doggy Easter egg hunt takes over Krug Park

By Jazmine Knight
Dog owners across St. Joseph gathered at Krug Park for a doggy Easter egg hunt.
Located at the top of the hill in Krug Park, everyone lined up their pups to prepare for the hunt.
Dogs of all different sizes, shapes, colors and breeds were in attendance.
As soon as the announcer yelled “go,” everyone quickly dispersed and descended down the hill to find all the eggs. Inside each multi-colored egg were various doggy treats which each dog enjoyed.
One attendee, Carly Raridon, says she saw the event on Facebook.
“I thought it’d be fun for the dogs to have an Easter egg hunt of their own, so we brought them,” Raridon said.
She says her dog, Blue, got lots of eggs and lots of treats. For Raridon, her favorite part was “just being able to come out and do something, it’s kind of fun,” she said.
Another attendee, Becky Anderson says her and her dog, Milo, had such a great time.
“I think any time the dogs can get out and get together and get socialized,” Anderson said.
“And of course, Milo always loves the treats.”
Milo also had a bit of assistance from kids to help him find his eggs.
When it came to making new doggy friends, Milo wasn’t shy at all.
“I think he did [make friends]. He loved it,” said Anderson.
Both ladies said they would recommend this event to friends, family and other dog owners.
