Residents can shop while giving back to the community this weekend

Christmas is months away, but a two-day shopping event this weekend is sure to ignite the holiday spirit.

NLJ Events hosts “Shopping 4 a Cause” from 4 to 8 p.m. on Friday, March 22, and 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday, March 23. The event will take place at the Backwoods Venue at 11347 S.E. State Route DD in Gower, Missouri.

Nichole Faucett, CEO of NLJ Events, said while the shopping is sure to be enjoyable, perhaps the best part of the experience is who it benefits.

“The event supports small businesses here in town, local crafters, things like that, so people can come out and shop and it’s free to attend,” she said. “However, we also want to help the community at the same time, so the event itself benefits the Christmas store at the Gower Convalescent Center.”
