Despite the freezing temperatures, there are still many opportunities to have fun indoors this weekend in this week’s edition of See St. Joseph.

The Dance Arts Center, along with the Mad Hatter and other Wonderland residents, has invited St. Joseph residents to join them for a tea party at 12:30 p.m. or 1:30 p.m. on Saturday at 1902 Jules St. The event features tea and cookie snacks with characters from the show “Alice in Wonderland,” including Alice, the White Rabbit, Cheshire Cat and more. Attendees will create a themed craft and be treated to a sneak peek of excerpts from the show. Tickets can be purchased on the studio’s website at thedanceartscenter.com

Couldn’t make the Mad Hatter’s Tea Party? Good news — community members can join Princesses Ariel, Moana and Aurora as well as Prince Phillip for a royal tea party from 1 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. on Saturday at the Ruby Theatre. Attendees can enjoy royal tea or apple juice, small finger snacks and even a coronation. Young royalty can enjoy a sing-along with their favorite princesses and a story time that concludes with pictures taken on the throne. Tickets can be purchased from RRT’s website at rrtstjoe.org/princess-tea-party.

If tea isn’t your thing, head to Toe Beans Coffee for a free game of Cards Against Humanity from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday. All are welcome to come and go as they please. This event is sure to get everyone laughing and connecting with friends and strangers. Due to the nature of the game, Toe Beans does ask that all participants be 17 years or older. It should be a hilariously good time with good coffee.

After a day filled with games, tea and magical characters, a great way to unwind is with a book, friends … and more tea.

Sponsored by the Friends of the Library and hosted by Alchemy Tea, adults who enjoy reading a mix of adult and young adult books can meet and discuss their latest literary adventures. Starting at 4 p.m. Saturday, the book club will be discussing “The Unfortunate Side Effects of Heartbreak and Magic” by Breanne Randall.

Afterward, put the books away and get out the vintage band T-shirts because it’s time to party, ‘80s and ‘90s style.

The Metropolitan will be hosting an ‘80s and ‘90s Night featuring the bands 22nd And Nowhere and the Violent Hymns. Come dressed from your favorite decades for photo ops, free-flowing champagne and an evening of boogying. There’s going to be food, a full bar, food trucks and vendors. Doors open at 6:30 p.m. with the show kicking off at 7 p.m.. General tickets can be purchased online at theotherden.square.site.
