Charges filed after fleeing suspect injures multiple officers

Charges have been filed on Tuesday evening after a suspect who was attempting to evade capture crashed into two police vehicles and caused multiple officers to sustain injuries. 

According to the St. Joseph Police Department, officers responded to the 1000 block of Corby in reference to a disturbance.

A vehicle left the area of the disturbance and failed to yield to police officers.

The suspect 28-year-old Tyler Allan Armstrong, hit two police vehicles and then crashed into a parked car.

Armstrong was taken into custody and received medical treatment. Three officers were injured as a result of the suspect’s actions.

Armstrong has been charged with Aggravated Fleeing a Stop or Detention, driving while intoxicated, causing physical injury to law enforcement, and Assault 3rd degree special victim.

Armstrong’s bond has been denied.
