What kind of farmer are you?

In 1956, Milton Levine was at a Fourth of July picnic at his sister’s house, when he noticed a bunch of kids spellbound by lines of ants marching along. Inspiration struck the 32-year-old entrepreneur, leading him to create the first commercial Ant Farm for people to “watch ants dig tunnels and build bridges.” His first farms, including a vial of ants, sold for $1.98. They were an instant hit. Several other providers now sell ant farm kits (at $10 to $25 each), and it’s estimated that well over 25 million ant farms (and about half a billion ants) have been sold to date! Were you ever an ant farmer?
