Strawberry cake

This strawberry cake recipe is a great way to use the fresh strawberries growing in your garden or from your local farmers market.
Strawberry cake
1 pkg. white cake mix (Duncan Hines yellow “butter golden”mix makes this cake excellent)
3 tbsp. flour
3 eggs
3/4 cup cooking oil
1 3 oz. package strawberry jello
1/2 cup frozen or fresh strawberries
3/4 cup water
Combine all ingredients into large mixing bowl and mix well. Bake in greased and floured tube pan at 350 degrees for 45 to 50 minutes or two 9-inch cake pans for 25 minutes. Can also use Bundt pan.
Strawberry icing
2 tbsp. melted butter
1½ cup powdered sugar
2 tbsp. crushed strawberries
Combine all ingredients. If icing is too thick, add a tablespoon or so of strawberry juice.
Drizzle icing over cake.
Note: Strawberries can be swapped for peaches/peach jello as they are almost in season.
