Puppy Bowl returns to River Bluff Brewing

For the third year, Friends of the St. Joseph Animal Shelter are teaming up with River Bluff Brewing to host the annual Puppy Bowl.
The Third Annual Puppy Bowl is scheduled from 1 to 4 p.m. on Sunday, Feb. 9 at River Bluff Brewing, located at 1224 Frederick Ave.
Taylor Stephenson, the co-chair of the fundraising committee for Friends of the St. Joseph Animal Shelter, explained more about the event and how it has gone in the past.
"So the last couple years have been pretty successful I think," Stephenson said. "We had two puppies adopted last year, they met their forever families here at the brewery for the event."
"and people leave with prizes, we have hot dogs free of charge. If they want to donate, awesome," Stephenson added. "and it's just a really good time for everyone to come down and see what Friends of the Animal Shelter is about, see how good the beer is here."
The whole community is invited out to this event that aims to benefit the shelter animals in St. Joseph while supporting the Kansas City Chiefs.
"So people can come down and snuggle puppies and drink a beer, have a hot dog, win some prizes hopefully and then take home another Super Bowl victory," Stephenson said.
The Animal Shelter is also hosting an adoption special this weekend.
In honor of the Kansas City Chiefs making it to the Super Bowl for the third year in a row, all dogs and puppies can be adopted for $3 from Thursday, Feb. 6 to Sunday, Feb. 9.
