News-Press Now

By St. Joe Live staff

Each week, members of the Lifestyles staff share something we like. Maybe you’ll like it, too.

Jess DeHaven, Lifestyles editor: One of the coolest grocery stores out there is Trader Joe’s. Along with the usual staples, they also carry speciality items, including a large selection of ethnic and organic foods at reasonable prices. Until recently, you’ve only been able to find them on the coasts, but the chain opened a store in Omaha this year and one is coming to Kansas City’s Ward Parkway mall next month. So check it out!

Blake Hannon, entertainment reporter: When I had to get a wedding band, I knew I didn’t want to just get something traditional. I found a cool store called Titanium Kay (www.titaniumkay.com), where they have an excellent selection of titanium bands at reasonable prices. But what blew me away about them was their customer service. When I ordered the ring in the wrong size and tried to wear it for a few months, I sent it back to exchange it (full confession: my ring MAY have had a few scratches on it) and they still sent me the ring in my size for free. Dudes, if you’re going to tie the knot, give this website a visit.

Erin Wisdom, religion reporter: I used to think shopping for clothes online was a pretty horrible idea, given the fact that you can’t try anything on and are therefore much more likely to purchase something that doesn’t fit. But I’ve begun to see the appeal of online clothing shopping thanks to Black Friday deals that some stores offered on their websites, allowing me to take advantage of the deals without having to get up early or brave the crazy crowds. Plus, almost everything I ordered fit perfectly, and I was able to easily return the items that didn’t to local stores.
