American Indian reservations

By Metro Creative

According to the United States Census Bureau, the five largest American Indian reservations in 2020 were each west of the Mississippi River.

The Navajo Nation Reservation and Off-Reservation Trust Land, which includes land in Arizona, New Mexico and Utah, is home to more than 4% of the American Indian/Alaska Native alone population in 2020, making the area home to nearly 10 times more individuals who identify as American Indian alone or Alaska Native alone than the second largest reservation in size.

In fact, the USCB reports that almost 90% of the American Indian/Alaska Natives population on the Navajo Nation Reservation and Off-Reservation Trust Land identified exclusively as Navajo Nation.
