Bill Falkner, Republican

Falkner has served as a state representative since 2019 following eight years as St. Joseph’s mayor and for years as a city councilman. He has owned and operated Falkner Plumbing for more than 30 years. If re-elected, Falkner said he would focus efforts on advancing the 139th Airlift Wing and constructing a second bridge that would cross the Missouri River.

Andrew Gibson, Democrat

Gibson is a forklift operator and union steward at National Beef Leathers and said protecting workers’ rights is at the top of his agenda. Lifting up marginalized communities by closing the wage gap, expanding social services that support St. Joseph’s homeless population and widening Medicare coverage in Buchanan County are other issues he would like to address.
