Weekend event to highlight Hispanic cultures

The cultures of several Hispanic cultures will be showcased in a special celebration planned for this weekend.

The third annual Hispanic Heritage Month Celebration hosted by Latinos Connect is set for 3 to 9 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 5, at Coleman Hawkins Park, Seventh and Felix streets. It will include food, music, and family-friendly activities from countries including Mexico, Venezuela, Puerto Rico, Ecuador, Spain and the Caribbean.

More than 50 vendors will be offering items, including food, and traditional dances, cultural performances and live music from the Selekto Show will be among the entertainment.
