Lafayette @ Savannah

Savannah is back home for the first time in two weeks hosting a Lafayette team coming off of a rival win over Benton last Friday. The Savages haven’t been known to light up the scoreboard yet this season, averaging just over 12 points per game. But defensively is where the Savages make their mark, giving up seven points per game to their opponents.

Bishop LeBlond @ Plattsburg This matchup will be the first of two this season between these two teams. Plattsburg will make a trip to St. Joseph to play LeBlond again in late October. The Golden Eagles are 3-0 whereas the Tigers are 2-0 this season. LeBlond has won all of its contests so far this season by at least 20 points.

Central @ North Kansas City

2024 marks the second consecutive 3-0 start to a season Central has had. The Indians will take to the road for likely its toughest contest yet this season with 2-1 North Kansas City waiting for them. Last year when these two teams played, Central won a rather low-scoring affair 24-14.

Benton @ University Academy Charter (Saturday)

The thicket of MEC play is on the horizon for Benton, and it’ll look to gain some momentum heading into it by facing a 2-1 University Academy Charter team that exploded for 60 points last Saturday. Benton has dropped its last two games by an average of 14.5 points per game.

Mid-Buchanan v. West Platte

Friday will mark the third home game in a row for Mid-Buchanan as they took advantage of the homefield upper hand. The Dragons have shown they can have success putting points up on the scoreboard while keeping their opponents off of it. Mid-Buchanan has yet to give up more than 12 points in a game this year, and they’ll begin KCI Conference play with 2-1 West Platte coming off of an overtime win last week.

East Buchanan v. North Platte

Class 1 state champions in 2021 and 2022 in East Buchanan and Class 1 runner-up in 2023 North Platte square for KCI Confernce play in Gower. Both teams lost pivotal pieces from a year ago, but continue to press forward. East Buchanan is 2-1, while North Platte comes in at 1-2 after getting its first win of the season last week against Lathrop 26-20 at home.

St. Joseph Christian @ North Andrew

North Andrew had just two wins a season ago, with one of them coming against the Lions, who had just four losses in 2023. These two teams meet again for the Lions to look for redemption and an opportunity to bounce back following a 42-20 loss at home last Friday to Albany. North Andrew enters this game off of a 64-6 loss to Worth County on the road last Friday.

Riverside v. McClouth

The Cyclones got their first win of the season in shutout fashion with a 20-0 victory over Atchison County on the road. Riverside returns home for a bout with 2-0 McClouth this Friday. McClouth is giving up just 12 points a game to its opponents this season while scoring an average of 30 points per game through two games.
