Annual festival of Irish heritage revisits St. Joseph

The 8th annual Celtic Street Faire, presented by the Ancient Order of Hibernians, took place in Coleman Hawkins Park on Saturday night.
The event is a celebration of Irish heritage, and sponsors Catholic education and the Second Harvest Community Food Bank.
The faire included live music, food, whiskey tastings and more.
Tom Supple is on the committee to help put on the event every year. Supple shared that it is easy for him to celebrate his Irish heritage.
“So, I’m from a very big Irish family,” Supple said. “My grandpa is from Ireland and I actually have dual-citizenship. And it just comes naturally to kind of celebrate that heritage.”
Supple has high hopes for the future of the festival.
“Well, I can only see it growing bigger and better,” Supple said. “The crowds get bigger, it becomes more popular, it becomes more of a citywide event. So, we’re hoping it just keeps growing and more people appreciate the heritage that we celebrate.”
