Kirsten Stokes

Kirsten Stokes has been an accomplished evening anchor at News-Press NOW since August 2023. Before Joining News-Press, she graduated from Northwest Missouri State University with a degree in Broadcasting and Mass Media Production. Originally from Overland Park, Kansas, her broadcasting career started in high school. Since then, she has loved the interviews and personal connections with the communities she's served. 

Experiencing foster care and multiple moves in childhood, Kirsten is passionate about covering social service assistance, featuring stories about real people and bringing awareness to the resources and opportunities St. Joseph offers. Outside the newsroom, she is a professional hair and makeup artist in the pageant world, traveling the country for the past 5 years through her own LLC, KDStylings.  

In St. Joseph, her favorite spot to eat is Longboards and she is attracted to the architecture and history of the city. In addition, she enjoys reading to kindergarteners through the United Way Reading Adventure program.
