Charles Christian

Charles Christian has been in Missouri since 2012 and has lived in a total of five states. He was raised in Texas and attended SMU in Dallas, majoring in Marketing and minoring in Music. Although he had plans to attend law school, he felt a strong calling toward pastoral ministry, which led him to attend seminary for graduate school. After that, he finished a Ph.D in theology and ethics. Charles has pastored in Texas, Oregon, Washington, Ohio and Missouri, and has also taught at various colleges and seminaries throughout the country. Along the way, he wrote many articles for various journals and contributed to several books. He wrote a book on ethics in 2017.
In 2016, Charles moved into media and communications, working as a managing editor for two magazines and as a communications coordinator for his denominational headquarters in Lenexa, Kansas. That journey brought him to full-time reporting, producing and anchoring at the St. Joseph News-Press. He currently anchors five nights per week, produces shows, reports stories in the community, and writes a weekly column called, "Christian Reflections" every week for the newspaper.
He and his wife Edna have been married since 1993. They have two grown sons, Jacob (a Missouri Western graduate who is an officer in the U.S. Navy), and Zachary (finishing his degree at Truman State University). Charles likes to read, hike and play music.
