LEAWOOD, Kan. – Mary Jean Young of Leawood, Kansas, formerly of St. Joseph, passed away on April 17, 2024, at the age of 82.

She was preceded in death by her son, Seth Andrew Young, and her parents, Mary Elizabeth (Doll) Urick and Eugene Hew Wallace.

She is survived by her husband of 61 years, Dr. Thomas J. Young; children, Paul S. Young (Mary), of Minneapolis, Minnesota, and Dr. Rachel E. Runde (Eric), of Kansas City, Missouri; and grandchildren, Oscar and Ingrid Young.

Services will be held on Tuesday, April 23, at McGilley State Line Chapel, 12301 State Line Road, Kansas City, MO. Visitation will be from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m., followed by a Celebration of Life service at 10:30 a.m. Burial will be at 1:30 p.m. in Ashland Cemetery, St. Joseph.
