The Dance Arts Center Performing Arts Company participated at the Groove Regional Dance Competition in February The studio received the “Professionalism” award along with the other following awards:

Groups:

“Another One Bites the Dust” was a jazz dance performed by Grace Mosiman, Hannah Damery, Jaydaci Garcia-Williams, Jessica White, Maggie Musser, Mireya Dickinson, Mollie Miller, Quinlan Crowley and Wendy Lippincott. The dance received a Diamond and placed seventh overall.

“Can’t Turn You Loose” was a jazz dance performed by Brianna Rosenthal, Brynlee Safley, Cadence Larson, Camden Buhman, Carly Ward, Ellie Pilgram, Finn DeSchepper, Morgan McCauley, Olivia Beaver, Piper Newey, Sam Ward, Sophie Reno and Zoe Cox. The dance received a Diamond, placed first in their category and third overall.

“DMX” was a hip hop dance performed by Alice Brewka, Avery Pasley, Carly Ward, Chloe Buhman, Ella Ham, Elliot DeSchepper, Hadley Blake, Hannah McBride, Jaydaci Garcia-Williams, Lexi Perkins, Lily Phillips and Zoey Hawkins. The dance received a Diamond, placed third in their category and seventh overall.

“Faith” was a jazz dance performed by Elliana Beck, Emilee Dilley, Heidi Goettemoeller, Henry Pilgram and Holly Johnson. The dance received a Diamond and placed third in their category.

“Marry the Night” was a jazz dance performed by Grace Mosiman, Izzy Lawyer, Mireya Dickinson and Quinlan Crowley. The dance received an Elite Sapphire.

“Purple Rain” was a contemporary dance performed by Ali Everett, Briley Lindstrom, Brynlee Safley, Claire Phillips, Ella Ham, Elina Sherman, Elliot DeSchepper, Hadley Blake, Hannah McBride, Kaitlyn Sale, Malia Safley and Olivia Beaver. The dance received an Elite Sapphire, placed second in their category and ninth overall. The dance also received the “Born to Perform” judge’s award.

“Take the World by Storm” was a contemporary dance performed by Allison Kulhman, Annabeth Lippincott, Brianna Rosenthal, Cadence Larson, Camden Buhman, Finn DeSchepper, Izzy Lawyer, Lilly Reno and Zoe Cox. The dance received an Elite Sapphire, placed first in their category and fifth overall.

• “This Will Be” was a tap dance performed by Claire Phillips, Elina Sherman, Ellie Pilgram, Elliot DeSchepper, Hannah Damery, Hannah McBride, Kelly Johnson, Malia Safley and Piper Newey. The dance received a Diamond and placed first in their category.
• “Wind it Up” was a jazz funk dance performed by Ali Everett, Alice Brewka, Avery Pasley, Briley Lindstrom, Chloe Buhman, Claire Phillips, Lily Phillips, Malia Safley, Mollie Miller and Rebecca White. The dance received an Elite Sapphire, placed first in their category and eighth overall. The dance also received the “You Got the Beat” judge’s award.

Duets and Trios:

• Annabeth Lippincott and Sam Ward performed a jazz duet and received an Elite Diamond, placed first in their category and first overall.
• Ellie Pilgram and Hannah Damery performed a contemporary duet and received an Elite Sapphire and placed third in their category.
• Zoe Cox and Brianna Rosenthal performed a musical theater duet and received an Elite Sapphire.
• Finn DeSchepper and Camden Buhman performed a tap duet and received a Diamond, placed second in their category, and fourth overall.
• Wendy Lippincott and Kelly Johnson performed a tap duet and received a Diamond, placed first in their category, and second overall. They also received the “Professional” judge’s award.
• Henry Pilgram and Heidi Goettemoeller performed a contemporary duet and received a Diamond, placed first in their category and fourth overall.
• Emilee Dilley and Elliana Beck performed a musical theater duet and received an Elite Sapphire and placed second in their category.
