Big thank you

I just wanted to thank so much the people that put together the St. Patrick’s Day parade. I’m sure it’s a lot of work and the people that participated, that is a perfect example of bringing people together post-pandemic. I think that we have so many fewer opportunities post-pandemic and especially with so much more online, shopping and DoorDash and everything, everything is online now. People don’t get together as much as they used to in everyday situations.

Missing the break

I just went to the St. Joseph Symphony. It was just wonderful. The only thing that is really missing is the intermission.

No difference

I think all senior citizens remember when they went to carnivals, and you had carnival hawkers out there trying to bring you into a certain area. What’s the difference between Donald Trump and a carnival hawker? Nothing.

We do have memories

The person who called in here about Jamie Raskin, you know, that people have memories, we sure do. We remember Jan. 6. We need to remember Mar-a-Lago.

Not as useful

When the daylight savings system was introduced to the United States, people would light up their cottages with either a lantern, a candle or a fireplace and they also heated with wood stoves and cooked on them. That’s not the case anymore. We live in a modern society. We have lights, electricity, central air, furnaces and other heating devices. It’s time that we gave daylight savings time up. Even the farmers know that it’s not as beneficial now as it was then.
