Man in stable condition following shooting

A St. Joseph man is recovering from a gunshot wound and the suspect remains at large in a shooting that happened this weekend near North Ninth and Corby streets.

Police responded to a shots fired call at about 6:30 p.m. on Saturday, according to Capt. Jeff Wilson with the St. Joseph Police Department. The victim, 29-year-old Blakley Whisenand, is in stable condition, Wilson said.

No arrests have been made and the investigation continues, police said.
