Rose Frances Kieffer, 92, of St. Joseph, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, March 6, 2024, in a St. Joseph health care center. She was born June 1, 1931, in St. Joseph, daughter of the late Rose and Peter Rock. She graduated from Benton High School and married Benton Kieffer on Oct. 18, 1952, he preceded Rose in death on Dec. 29, 1999. Rose worked at Mannschrecks Book Store for several years. She was a baptized Catholic and a former member of the St. Joseph Ukrainian Catholic Church, and St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church, prior to joining her husband at Huffman United Methodist Church.

Rose was preceded in death by husband; her parents; granddaughter, Molly Kieffer; 10 brothers and sisters, George, John, Joe, Pete Jr., and Bill Rock, Catherine “Katie” Helsel, Mary Kathleen Rogers, Ann Johnson, Opal Eastin, and Tillie Rock.

Survivors include sons, Rock (Mary) Kieffer, of St. Joseph, and Shawn (Jane) Kieffer, of Kansas City, Missouri; grandchildren, Katie Choquette, Libby Kieffer, Laura Kieffer, Brandon Hatley, Callie Karasck, and Ryne Kieffer; and seven great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. on Friday at the Rupp Funeral Home. Funeral services and public live stream; 10 a.m. Saturday, March 9, 2024, at the Rupp Funeral Home. The Interment will be at the Memorial Park Cemetery.

Memorials are requested to the Asera Care Hospice.
